As an active skater; we've gotta be thankful for the numerous skateparks we have near us! Especially those of us who grew up in the 90's... we remember the days when there WERE NO legal skate spots. No plazas. No outdoor, free, flawless concrete bowls and fun boxes. We had what we had... and I think that's where a lot of the STREET element of skating came from. The necessity to be creative in urban surroundings. But with all the cops writing tickets, and the business owners kicking kid's off their property; it's nice to see a growing number of skate spots that are both legal, and safe. Many of these parks are completely free of cost to use
With that being said; the SkateLife crew has put together a way for us to give back! This summer, Let's give back to our local skateparks by spending a few hours cleaning up! Pick up litter, empty garbage bins or buy some if needed.. sweep, repair, maybe a splash of paint if needed, etc. We plan on doing this monthly, each month a different park.. and I'd appreciate any/all help and support! We'll provide food and drinks for everybody who helps out... BBQ it up, skate the day away, etc... I know there's still a ton of other parks.. should we maybe do a vote to see what other parks to do? Any/all feedback or suggestions greatly appreciated!
